Seaweed after the storm

After the wild storm a few days ago Aultbea had little damage compared to other parts of the country. One of the effects of the storm was that the road was covered by seaweed that had to be cleared by the snow plough and left on the verges. So today, having kindly been lent a trailer, we collected three trailer loads of lovely slippery seaweed to use as a mulch and enhance the soil where we plan to grow next year's potatoes.

The chickens just love scratching and rummaging through the seaweed as it comes out of the trailer looking for all the delicious insects.
