The annual Aultbea Raft Race , great fun !

 A team of  four is needed for each raft and recycled materials must be used.

Ours was made from the inner tube of a tractor wheel tied into an oval shape,

it was the smallest raft in the race.

Onlookers could not believe that we could get four people on it

let alone paddle it for half a mile !

BUT WE DID !

The race starts at the harbour pier (on the right) across the harbour to the Aultbea Hotel (on the left.)

The poly tunnel is coming on, not bad as we started later than we had hoped for.

My first attempt at growing courgettes, I'm hooked.

The beginnings of cucamelons, or "mouse melons", these will grow to 8' high supposedly and the fruits are grape-sized and taste like cucumbers with a hint of lime, supposedly.

The start of many pots of Chinese Lanterns, that I love, ready for flowering next year.

14 ton of logs now waiting to be seasoned and cut ready for winter 2015, best I get the bow saw ready. Malcolm has kindly made me a saw-horse in readiness.

Two large bags of fleece kindly given to us, Malcolm is going to make a peg loom, I'm going to sort the fleeces and then it's "rugs r us", another little project for the long winter evenings.
